This document is published in accordance with the provisions of Rule 3 (1) of the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 that require publishing the rules and regulations, privacy policy and the terms and conditions for access or usage of www.varan.in (the "Website").
YOUR USE OF THE WEBSITE SIGNIFIES YOUR AGREEMENT TO ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS, POLICIES AND NOTICES CONTAINED HEREIN. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, POLICIES OR NOTICES CONTAINED ON THE WEBSITE, DO NOT USE OR ACCESS THE WEBSITE.
Eligibility :
A) Varan Membership and rights of admission is reserved solely for :
I. Indian Nationals & Citizens.
II. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO).
III. Non Resident Indians (NRI).
IV. Persons of Indian Descent or Indian Heritage
V. Persons who intend to marry persons of Indian Origin.
B) Further in capacity as Varan member you confirm that you are :
I. 18 years or above (if you are a woman) or 21 years or above (if you are a man);
II. If you have applied for Divorce, you may register on our website/App by stating "Awaiting Divorce".
III. If you are a resident of any other Country, you are legally competent to marry as per the local rules applicable to your country and you shall comply with the Indian laws for marrying a person of Indian Origin
C) In case you are a Registrant of the prospective bride/ bridegroom and has created profile in Varan Website/App on behalf of them or is accessing the Varan Website/App on behalf of them implies that you have taken their consent for their profile creation in Varan and for accessing the Varan Website/App.
Registration with the Website
To avail some of the services on the Website such as view horoscope in a member or of premium services offered by the company, Users will be required to register with the Website. Website/App acts as a platform to enable any user to themselves register on it (by filling the mandatory fields and optional fields, if any) to voluntarily search for profile(s) from the database of Websites already registered users, for seeking prospective lawful matrimonial alliances. The first step in the registration process is for you to fill up the registration form available at varan.in. During the process of registration or otherwise, you may be required to furnish information, (personal or otherwise). You shall ensure that you furnish accurate, complete and up-to-date information. The profile search conducted by any User and the matches shown thereof are automatically generated by Website, and based on the partner preference set by you. In the event, the User changing their partner preference on the Website/App, then the automated system generated prospect results of the Website/App may also undergo corresponding change.
Upon successful registration, you will be given a user name and password. By applying for registration you confirm and agree that you will be the sole and exclusive owner and that you accept sole responsibility for the use, confidentiality and protection of the user name and the password as well as for all actions initiated using your user name and password. Your registration with the Website is for your personal use. You may not authorize others to use your user name and password and you may not assign or transfer your user name and/or password to any other person or entity. All statements made and acts or omissions that occur while your user name and password are being used shall be deemed to have originated conclusively from your end and you shall be responsible for the same and/or any misuse thereof.
Multiple registrations of the same person are not allowed on the Website. The Company reserves the right to deactivate all multiple registrations by the same User without any refund of subscription fees. You are required to immediately notify the Company in writing on becoming aware of any loss, theft or unauthorized use of your user name and/or password or any inaccurate information in relation to your use of the Website or our services. While the Company disclaims any liability for such loss, theft or unauthorized use and consequences thereof, on receipt of such notification from you, the Company will take such steps as reasonably possible to block your user name and on a request duly made, generate a new user name and password for you.
If any information provided by you for registration or otherwise is found to be untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or the Company has grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Company has the right to suspend or terminate your registration with the Website and refuse you any and all current or future use of the Website (or any portion thereof). The Company reserves the right (in its sole discretion) to refuse you registration on the Website, terminate your registration and remove or edit any Content posted on the Website using your user name and password.
Role and Responsibility of Varan
1. Varan reproduces your details once you register on our website /App on "as is as available" basis and also share your profile with other registered Varan members within website(s) of Varan portal / Applications.
2. Varan's obligation is only to provide an interface to its registered members to search their prospect themselves without any assistance.
3. Varan shall safeguard sensitive user information using security standards, authentication mechanisms, access controls and encryption techniques.
4. Varan cannot guarantee or assume responsibility for any specific results from the use of the data available from the Varan service or from other matrimonial websites owned by Varan including community based websites.
5. The profile search conducted by any Varan member and the matches shown thereof are automatically generated by VARAN, and based on the partner preference set by you. In the event of Varan member changing their partner preference on the Website/App, then the automated system generated prospect results of the Website/App may also undergo corresponding change.
6. Varan do not authenticate/endorse any information of any profile and hence you as a user need to verify the credentials and information provided by other users.
7. Varan cannot guarantee the complete protection of user data while it is in transit, or prevent any tampering of the data by a third party with malicious intent before the data reaches the Varan servers.
8. Varan does not prohibit any Varan member from sending interest to your profile or communicating to you based on their partner preference. But you are at the liberty to deny their interest or proceed further if you are interested.
Secure Connect
Varan has a special safety feature for all registered users, called "Secure Connect", which enables users to take control of their privacy and safety while searching for their life partner. "Secure Connect" has a calling feature that lets the users in Varan receive calls from users without revealing their contact numbers to them, It is upto to the user to respond to the other party and Varan has no control over the same.
Restrictions on Use
You agree that :
1. You shall not upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that you do not have a right to make available under any law or under contractual or fiduciary relationships (such as inside information, proprietary and confidential information earned or disclosed as part of employment relationships or under nondisclosure agreements, without limitation).
2. Your Content shall not contain any material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party intellectual property rights or proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have written permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant the Company all of the license rights granted herein. You shall not upload, post, or otherwise make available any content that infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights:

Your Content shall not contain material that is abusive, unlawful, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, peadophilic, invasive of another’s privacy, including bodily privacy, insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, profane, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, indecent, racially, religiously or ethnically offensive or otherwise objectionable or offensive in any manner, or encouraging money laundering or gambling or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil, tortious or criminal liability or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws of India or is otherwise inappropriate.
4. Your Content shall not contain falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage the Company or any third party.
5. Your Content shall not contain advertisements or solicitations of business.
6. You shall not forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any content transmitted through the service. Further you shall not deceive or mislead the addressee about the origin of the message or knowingly and intentionally communicates any information which is patently false or misleading in nature but may reasonably be perceived as a fact.
7. Your Content shall not contain any chain letters or pyramid schemes.
8. You shall not impersonate another person or entity.
9. You shall not intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law while using or accessing the Website.
10. Your Content shall not contain any virus or other harmful component.
11. You shall not utilise the Website or its services in any manner whatsoever so as to contact or communicate with minors (i.e those below the age of eighteen) or is harmful to the minors.
12. You will use the Website strictly and only for your personal and non-commercial use.
13. You will not use the Website to threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or Sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or causes incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence or prevents investigation of any offence or is insulting any foreign States;
14. You shall not upload content that contains software virus or any other computer code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
15. You will not take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the Website servers or systems, or any servers or systems used by the Company.
16. You shall refrain from (1) entering into any financial transactions with other members, (2) seeking financial help or provide financial help from / to the other Members, (3) Sharing of confidential and personal data with each other but not limited to sharing of sensitive/personal photos, bank details, etc., (4) entering into physical relationship with any prospect before marriage and (5) interacting with suspended profile users.
17. You are expected to be cautious of user who ask for favours, money etc or call from multiple phone numbers, only interact over phone, doesn't come forward for face to face meeting (physically or through video calls) and don’t involve family and friends in match making.
18. You will not use the Website for any illegal purpose or in any manner inconsistent with these Terms.
19. You will not upload content that is patently false and untrue, and is written or published in any form, with the intent to mislead or harass a person, entity or agency for financial gain or to cause any injury to any person.
Further, you shall not, except as permitted by these Terms :
i. Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, transmit, perform, publish or create derivative works from or in any way exploit any part of the Website in violation of these Terms or the laws of any country.
ii. Create a database in electronic or structured manual form by systematically downloading and storing the entire Website or part thereof except such information as relates or concerns you directly.
iii. Cache or permit caching by any person.
iv. Send unsolicited email or other correspondence to any other User.
v. Do any act that violates the Company's (or any third party's) intellectual property rights in the Website.
vi. Engage in any fraudulent, abusive or illegal activity, including but not limited to any communication or solicitation designed or intended to fraudulently obtain the password or any private information of any other User.
vii. Use the Website to violate the security of any computer or computer network, crack passwords or security encryption codes, transfer or store illegal material including threatening or obscene material or engage in any kind of illegal activity.
viii. Run any mail list or any form of auto-responder, or spam on the Website or any processes that are run or are activated while the User is not logged on or engage in any virus attack or denial of service or attach or engage in any activity designed and/or intended to interfere with the working of Website for any duration of time.
ix. Use any information obtained from the Website in order to harass, abuse, or harm another person, or in order to contact, advertise to, solicit, or sell to any User without their prior explicit consent.
x. Collect or harvest any personally identifiable information, including account names, from the Website, nor to use the communication systems provided by the Website for any commercial solicitation purposes. User agrees not to solicit, for commercial purposes, any users of the Website with respect to their Content.
xi. Use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, "robots", "spiders", "offline readers", etc., that accesses the Website in a manner that sends more request messages to Website servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a convention on-line web browser.
Third Party website
A. Varan member understand and agree that Varan may allow third parties to put up advertisements on the VARAN application/Website and VARAN does not control the contents of such third party advertisement on the VARAN application/Website. Third party websites to which links are given on Website/App are not governed by these Terms and conditions and all such third party websites are governed by their own terms and conditions for use and privacy policy, and in case of conflict the terms and conditions of the third party website shall prevail. The Company does not in any manner whatsoever authenticate, endorse, verify or certify these third party websites or any contents therein. Please note that a user shall click on links to third party websites at his / her sole risk and responsibility.
B. The Varan members agrees and understands that Varan may also allow third parties to provide Varan members services on the website/App like horoscope matching etc., and Varan may also collect the payment for such third party services to you, and Varan in this regard can have revenue sharing arrangement with such third party, however in no event shall VARAN be liable to you for such third party services.
C. Varan reserves the right to add/delete/alter/modify/suspend any or all the Varan Services at any time as it may deem fit, without notice. The Varan members are expected to see the change on the Website/App.
Subscription Fees
Any subscription fee paid for registration with the Website or for availing any services there from shall not be refunded/reimbursed under any circumstances whatsoever.
Email / SMS / Calls
Important Notifications from the Platform – Messages/notifications are sent to Users to inform them of various alerts related to usage of the Platform. These will be communicated to the Users by Email/app notifications etc. or on their Landline/Mobile from a non-140 number via SMS/MMS/VMS/USSD/IVR/Calls etc.
Membership Emails: Emails conveying the benefits of the Users. These are sent to the Email address mentioned by the Users in their profile.
Membership SMSes/Calls: SMSes or phone calls shall be sent conveying the benefits of paid membership to Users. Users will receive these calls or SMS on any of the phone numbers mentioned by Users on their profile, if they have subscribed to calls/ SMS in their alert manager settings.
If a member does not wish to receive communication from the Company then he needs to go to the "Settings" section in his profile and choose/disable for the modes (Emails / SMS / Calls / USSD / Messenger messages / IVR) and types of communication which User either wants to or does not want to receive. Types of communication are the specific messages based on profile attribute or Platform interactions between members. Platform may also provide for different message types and modes, other alternative ways to unsubscribe".
Promotional Mails - . Promotional emails are sent to members on their Email ids, if they have subscribed to promotional emails in their alert manager settings.
Users who sign up for Varan Exclusive services allow the Company to find suitable candidate/prospects on their behalf as per their instructions via Telephone, SMS, profile action on Varan Platform, face to face interaction or any other means/modes of communication.
Grievance Officer / Team
I. In the event you come across any violation by another user including but not limited to having content in the web site that is obscene, menacing, grossly offensive, harming minors, infringing copyright, patents, etc., or another user is impersonating etc. you may then please be free to provide your concerns in writing or email us with digital signature to:

II. The Grievance office shall be available between 10 am till 6 pm Indian Standard Time from Monday to Friday excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays in India. The Grievance officer is appointed as per Rule 3 (11) of The Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011. Any and all complaints to the Grievance Officer shall be in writing.
III. The Grievance Officer shall handle complaints in relation to the following violation by the User of computer resource as the User is not entitled to host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, update or share any information on the Website/App that-
a) belongs to another person and to which the User does not have any right to;
b) is grossly harmful, harassing, blasphemous defamatory, obscene, pornographic, pedophilic, libellous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically objectionable, disparaging, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise unlawful in any manner whatever;
c) harms minors in any way;
d) infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights;
e) violates any law for the time being in force;
f) deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of such messages or communicates any information which is grossly offensive or menacing in nature;
g) impersonate another person;
h) contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
i) threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order or causes incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence or prevents investigation of any offence or is insulting any other nation.
